The Easiest Way to Grow Wheatgrass: A Step-by-Step Guide

Hello, everyone! Today, I'm thrilled to show you the easiest way to grow wheatgrass. In a previous video, I shared a method of growing wheatgrass without soil, solely using water. However, that method requires frequent watering throughout the process. In this new approach, you'll only need to water the wheatgrass twice during its entire growing cycle. Let's get started!

Step 1: Soaking the Wheatgrass Seeds

Begin by taking two cups of wheatgrass seeds and soaking them in water for at least four to five hours. You can also opt for an overnight soak, allowing the seeds to sprout.

Step 2: Introducing Coconut Coir

Coconut coir, known for its excellent moisture retention properties, is the key ingredient in this method. Prepare a tray and add a layer of coconut coir to the bottom, leveling and compacting it.

Step 3: Planting the Sprouted Wheatgrass Seeds

Spread the sprouted wheatgrass seeds evenly across the tray, ensuring they are well-distributed. Gently press them into the coconut coir, allowing them to take root.

Step 4: Covering with Paper Towel and Watering

Cover the tray and the wheatgrass seeds with a layer of paper towel. This helps maintain moisture and provides a conducive environment for germination. Thoroughly soak the paper towel and the underlying coconut coir with water, ensuring ample moisture for the seeds to thrive.

Step 5: Monitoring and Watering

On the second day, check the paper towel's moisture level. If it begins to dry out, add a small amount of water to maintain adequate moisture for germination. Continue this monitoring process until the third day.

Step 6: Removing the Paper Towel

On the third day, remove the paper towel carefully, revealing the growing wheatgrass shoots. Marvel at the healthy growth and vibrant green color. At this stage, the coconut coir should still retain enough moisture to sustain the wheatgrass.

Step 7: Watering and Observing Growth

Observe the moisture level of the coconut coir by lifting the tray. If it feels heavy and moist, there's no need to water the wheatgrass yet. However, if the coconut coir dries out slightly, it's time for the final watering before harvest.

Step 8: Nurturing the Wheatgrass

Continue to monitor the wheatgrass as it grows. Ensure it receives adequate light and maintain a suitable environment for healthy development. The coconut coir will provide the necessary moisture to keep the wheatgrass thriving.

Step 9: Harvesting

On day nine, your wheatgrass will be ready for harvest. It will be beautifully grown, lush, and bursting with nutrients. Refer to my video on the best way to juice wheatgrass to extract the maximum benefits.
