Our New 1964 Chevy C 50 Farmtruck: A Memorable Piece of American History
Hello everyone! I am excited to share with you all that we recently purchased a 1964 Chevy C 50 farmtruck! This truck is a one and a half ton farmtruck that is perfect for our farm, and it has a Chevy 350 motor that roars when it turns on.
Let me take you on a tour of our new truck. The Chevy 350 engine is located under the hood, and the brake fluid reservoir is right beside it. The truck has an 8 by 12 bed that is 8 feet wide and 12 feet long, which means we can carry up to 6 pallets on it.
This truck is a memorable piece of American history, and I love the way it drives. It has power steering, but it still takes a little muscle power to move the steering wheel. However, it makes for a fun ride, especially in second gear. The maximum speed of the truck is 55 miles per hour, and the engine reaches around 35 to 2600 rpm. If I push it to 4,000 rpm, I can go up to 60 miles per hour, but I prefer to keep it under 4,000 rpm.
I recently met Richard, the previous owner of the truck, and he even serviced the brakes for me before giving me the truck. Richard and I developed a friendship, and he introduced me to his brother James, who manages a blueberry farm. James gave me some great pointers on growing blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. It's amazing how you can meet people and find common interests and professions.
In the end, I feel a deep connection with this old machine, and I will be restoring it soon. I hope you enjoyed this video and stay tuned for more updates on the restoration process. Remember, we need to cherish our history and agriculture. Thank you for reading!
