500 Fruit Trees Delivered

This was an exceptionally special day because a delivery of 520 bare root fruit trees had arrived and of course we wanted to document it! The three-point berm attachment that was bought with the Kubota was used to make berms and it worked really well when tested in the back of the property. The little tractor did a really good job and two little berms were made which were coming along pretty good. The setup used to plant the trees was such that the trees would be sitting a little bit higher than the ground so that the water doesn't get into the roots and sit there and water-lock the trees.

The truck arrived with the 520 fruit trees which were in bins that had to be lifted with a forklift. The neighbor agreed to help but was not picking up the phone. Later on, the neighbor arrived with a forklift which was a beast of a machine. The trees were planted and kept inside the shop to avoid sunlight. They were covered in sawdust which can be used in composting as a source of carbon.

The next step was to start watering the trees to avoid drying out. The trees were delivered and the planting process began with the help of some guys, which took a few days due to winds.

Overall, it was a great experience to receive and plant so many trees. It was a lot of work, but the end result was worth it. I now have a beautiful orchard that I can enjoy for years to come.

Planting trees is a great way to give back to the environment and make a positive impact on the planet. Trees provide many benefits, including clean air, shade, and habitat for wildlife. They also add beauty to our landscapes and can even increase property value.

If you are considering planting trees, I highly recommend it. It's a rewarding experience that will leave a lasting impact. Just be sure to plan ahead, gather the necessary tools and materials, and enlist some help if possible.

I hope you enjoyed following along with my tree planting journey. Remember, every tree planted makes a difference. Let's work together to create a greener and more sustainable world.
