Fresh Vegetables in Mason Jars

Today I want to share with you a really neat trick to keep veggies fresh in mason jars filled with water in the fridge. Not only will I show you how to keep your veggies fresh, but also how to use them to make flavored water and vegetable broth. Let's get started!

First, let's start with carrots. Peel and cut the ends of the carrots and wash them thoroughly. Cut the carrots to your desired size and add them to a Mason jar. Fill the jar with water and close the lid. You can eat fresh cooked carrots and also drink carrot-flavored water as well.

Do the same with potatoes. Peel and cut the potatoes into desired pieces and add them to a Mason jar. Fill the jar with water and close the lid. The potatoes will remain fresh for up to five days.

Next, take a full onion and cut the ends of the onion. Cut the onion in half and then peel it. Wash the onion thoroughly and slice it into desired pieces. Add the sliced onions to a Mason jar and fill the jar with water. Close the lid. Always cook onions before eating them to avoid any bacterial growth.

Do the same with cucumber. Cut the ends of the cucumber, peel it, and cut it into desired pieces. Add the cucumber pieces to a Mason jar and fill the jar with water. Close the lid.

Celery sticks will go bad quickly if you keep them in plastic bags. Take the celery sticks out of the plastic bag, wash them thoroughly, and cut them to your desired size. Add them to a Mason jar and fill the jar with water. Close the lid.

Lastly, ginger is painstaking to clean, peel, and cut. Add the peeled and cut pieces of ginger to a Mason jar and fill the jar with water. Close the lid. You can use these ginger skins in your soup or in your tea since they're already washed.

You can place all of these jars in your fridge and use the vegetables for up to five days. When you're in a time crunch, you can grab these vegetables from your fridge and cook with them in no time.

In addition, you can use the water from potatoes, onions, carrots, and celery as vegetable broth in your soups. The water from cucumbers and ginger can be used as flavored water in your drinks.

In conclusion, by using this neat trick of keeping vegetables fresh in mason jars filled with water in the fridge, you can save time and money. You can also use these veggies to make flavored water and vegetable broth. I hope you found this tip helpful and let me know in the comments below how you plan to use these veggies.
