DIY Homemade Butter with Just One Ingredient
I'll show you how you can make your own butter using just one ingredient - heavy whipping cream. Making your own butter at home is a fun and easy process that requires minimal effort and yields delicious results.
To get started, add the heavy whipping cream into the blender of your choice, making sure not to add more than one quarter of the blender capacity. Cover the blender with the lid and start blending until the cream thickens up and stops turning.
Next, add a cup of cold water, cover with the lid, and start blending again. Repeat this step until the cream stops thickening up and the butter separates from the buttermilk. This process usually takes about 5 minutes of turning the blender, and you may need to add 2-4 cups of water depending on the amount of cream you have.
Once the butter has separated from the buttermilk, use a notched spoon to scoop up the water without scooping up any of the buttermilk. It's essential to separate all the buttermilk from the butter to have a longer shelf life.
Next, store the butter in any container of your choice. I'm using a butter tray, which is very convenient for shaping and storing the butter. Press the button in the container to remove any last bit of the buttermilk. Then, turn the butter tray upside down and shake the butter down.
Refrigerate the butter after making it. After refrigeration, the butter has set and is ready to use. It tastes slightly better than store-bought butter because it's freshly made with fresh cream.
Making your own butter is a fun and easy process that yields delicious results. It's a great way to impress your family and friends with your culinary skills.
